Fireworks Festival 2008

Update: He finally sent me a picture taken by his dad.

I actually wanted to update on the Fireworks Festival that very Saturday night when i came home, but Wayne later told me that his dad had taken pictures of the fireworks, i decided to wait. Apparently, i'm quite done waiting, hence you guys can see this post. xD He hasn't sent me the pictures, so i just randomly stole some off from the internet. The power of google.

Anyway, the Fireworks Festival was held on the 22 & 23rd of August. I caught them on both days, at different location. On the 22nd, Wayne and I went outside of Marina Square to catch it. Not a very ideal location because we were kinda blocked by some buildings, but i must say the sound effects were still superb.

The contrast on 23rd's made 22nd's viewing really lousy. We managed to get seats right in front of the Esplanade, the river. We were just beside the floating platform where they shot the fireworks from; and directly across the river, the major shooting took place. Aside from the slight drizzle, the crowd was less than affected because we all had the best front seats for a performance, free-of-charge.

It was a spectacular display by the Korean team this year. They even synchronised the fireworks with Da Chang Jin's theme song. Truly Korean huh.

Before the fireworks began, there was a band performance at the outdoor stage in front of Esplanade. They played songs like apologize, hotel california, sweet child of mine etc. Fantastic entertainment for that night. =D
